Focused Workshops
Dedicated Time to Explore in Depth.
Focused workshops are designed for quilters who want to spend unhurried time with a specific technique, tool, or design process. Rather than covering lots of ground, these sessions slow things down - allowing space to practice, ask questions and really understand how something works.
They’re ideal if there’s one area of longarm quilting you’d like to feel clearer or more confident with, or something you’ve been meaning to explore properly.

How Focused Workshops Work
These workshops centre on a single theme for the day. We take time to look closely at how and why a particular approach works, and how it can be used thoughtfully across different quilts.
The emphasis is on:
understanding the process
making considered design decisions
developing ease through guided practice
As with all my teaching, the atmosphere is calm, supportive, and rooted in real studio practice.

Light lunch, with tea and coffee available throughout the day

Pantograph Quilting
This focused workshop offers a clear, hands-on introduction to pantograph quilting and how to stitch hand-guided edge-to-edge designs with confidence.
We’ll work through setting up the frame, positioning the pantograph, the laser light, rolling the quilt forward and realigning accurately as you quilt. The emphasis is on understanding the process so it feels steady and repeatable, rather than rushed.
You’ll finish the day with a stitched sample to take home, along with a clearer sense of how pantographs work in practice and how to use them comfortably at the frame.
Fancy Freehand Feathers
Developing feather shapes, flow, and consistency through guided freehand practice.
Take your feather skills to the next level in this full-day workshop dedicated to freehand feather quilting.
You’ll explore traditional and modern feather styles and discover how to add variety and movement to your designs - ideal for edge-to-edge, borders, and blocks.
Whether you want to refine your technique or push your creative range, this class will help you quilt feathers with confidence and flair.
This class is suitable for confident freehand quilters.
Creative Border Quilting
Calm, practical approaches to quilting borders
This focused workshop explores ways of quilting borders using both freehand and ruler work, with an emphasis on stitching borders that frame a quilt well without overpowering it.
We’ll look at how to approach borders calmly and methodically, paying attention to flow, spacing, and alignment. Common border challenges are worked through along the way, with practical solutions you can return to in your own quilting.
During the day, you’ll explore five to six different border treatments and create stitched reference samples to take home.

Custom Quilting using IQ
Placing designs with control and intention
This focused, one-to-one workshop introduces the core tools needed for custom computerised quilting using the IntelliQuilter.
The emphasis is on learning how to place, adjust, and work with designs within specific areas of a quilt — blocks, borders, and corners — in a way that feels logical and repeatable.
Rather than trying to cover everything IQ can do, we concentrate on a clear, manageable workflow that supports time-efficient quilting in real studio practice.
Who this workshop is for
This workshop is best suited to quilters who are already comfortable using IQ for pantograph quilting and want to begin exploring custom placement.

Computerised Pantograph Quilting using IQ
A calm introduction to automated edge-to-edge quilting
This focused, one-to-one workshop introduces computerised pantograph quilting using the IntelliQuilter.
The emphasis is on understanding the workflow for stitching edge-to-edge designs in a clear, step-by-step way. We take time to look at how pantographs are set up, how designs are positioned and stitched, and how the process fits together as a whole.
Rather than trying to explore lots of features, this workshop concentrates on helping computerised pantograph quilting feel logical, repeatable, and far less overwhelming.
This workshop is suited to quilters who:
are new to computerised pantograph quilting
want a clear, supported introduction to using IQ
prefer to learn in small, manageable steps
It focuses solely on edge-to-edge pantograph quilting and provides a solid foundation before moving on to custom computerised work.
This is a one-to-one session, allowing the pace to be adjusted to suit how you learn. There’s time to pause, repeat steps, and talk through the process until it feels clear and manageable.
The focus is on understanding the workflow - not rushing through options.
