Foundation Longarm Quilting Workshops
A steady, supportive place to begin.
Foundation workshops are for anyone who wants to feel more comfortable at the longarm frame/table - whether you’re completely new to longarm quilting or returning after time away.
We take things step by step, focusing on understanding the machine, building familiarity at the frame or table, and developing a steady, confident approach to quilting.
Learning longarm quilting doesn’t need to feel rushed or overwhelming. In these workshops, the emphasis is on calm, hands-on practice, with time to ask questions, try things out and build confidence through doing.
There’s no expectation to already know what you’re doing. These workshops are designed to meet you exactly where you are.

Choosing the Right Place to Begin
If you’re simply curious and want to try longarm quilting, the Longarm Experience Day is a gentle place to start.
If you’re planning to buy a machine - or have recently done so - the Introduction to Longarm Quilting offers a deeper, practical foundation.
Longarm Experience Day
This three-hour experience is designed for people who want to try longarm quilting without pressure or preparation.
You’ll spend time at the machine, learn what a longarm is and how it’s used, and create a stitched sample to take home. The focus is on exploration and enjoyment - not mastery or decision-making.
You’re welcome to come on your own, or share the experience with one or two friends. Groups are kept small so the day stays relaxed and supportive.

All materials provided,
Light refreshments
Time working on both a Bernina Q20 seated and a Bernina Q24 frame longarm
A stitched sample to take home
Support notes to revisit after the workshop
